Micro-Technology first emerged in the late 1980's and nano-technology at the very beginning at the twenty-first century. Their impact covers major industries including electronics, information and communication, bio-technology, nano-materials, and environment and energy. The first symposium was held in Honolulu, U.S.A., in March of 2004, chaired by Dr. M. Inoue and co-chaired by Professor M. Ishizuka.
